Major Break-Out Damage Control

My face. OMG.  I don't even know where to begin.  I started noticing miniature break-outs recently and now it has escalated into a full on Pizza-face.  So before it gets any worse, it's time for major damage control.

Step 1: Deep, DEEP cleaning my make-up brushes
One problem that many people don't realize is that if you don't wash your make-up brushes enough it's just as bad as not washing your face.  Bacteria gets trapped in brushes, multiplies, and sinks into your pores when you use them again.  GROSS! So make sure to clean them at least once or twice a week to prevent that.  Being at school I didn't wash my brushes as much as I should have.  Bad mistake.  Terrible mistake.

When just cleaning my brushes I use my Sonia Kashuk Brush and Sponge Cleaner.  That's if there's not a lot of product build up.  Otherwise I use an antibacterial dish detergent and extra virgin olive oil.  The oil breaks down the make-up that's in the brush and helps it come out more easily while the dish soap kills bacteria and sterilizes the brushes to make them good as new!  If you'd like a tutorial on how I clean my brushes, let me know in the comment section.

Step 2: Changing Up My Routine and Sticking To It
So obviously what I've been doing isn't working.  I've been using a light foaming cleanser that I guess wasn't really working.  I usually use Aveeno products but this one isn't doing as good of a job as the self-foaming dual-textured pads that I had been using.  I ran out though and until I get hired for a summer job, I'm on a tight (and I mean TIGHT) budget.  Lucky for me, I received a new facial cleanser in a Glam Bag that I ordered called 3Lab Perfect Cleansing Foam.  I did my research and decided to try it out.  So far it cleans really well and is very concentrated (a little dab will do ya) but it tends to dry out my skin just a little bit.  I've only used it once though so we'll see how well my skin clears up after a few more weeks.  I've heard tons of good reviews on it.  Only negative is the price.  So once I've run out, I'm DONE unless I order another Glam Bag or a Birch Box that just so happens to have one in there.  If any of you guys have any favorite cleansers for dry, sensitive, bumpy skin that you think I should try once I run out of this, let me know in the comments :)

Step 3: Water, Aqua, and H2O
Water is very important in clearing up skin.  Drinking too many sugary juices and sodas as well as eating unhealthy snacks are major factors that cause break outs.  So I'm drinking water and tons of it to help get my face back in good shape.
