Staying in Shape for CHEAP!

It's vacation time and like I mentioned in my previous post, that means it's Bikini Season.  If you're a college student like me, you're probably back at your parent's house away from the benefits of the FREE Rec Center that your university provides and are on a super tight budget.  So instead of paying a monthly fee to be part of a gym, I'm making it my goal to find the PERFECT bedroom work-outs and healthy foods to keep my body in shape and tone up.  I'll use resources like the sidewalk in my neighborhood to go for a morning jog, the work-outs that come in just about every magazine monthly, and of course the wonderful World Wide Web (YouTube works wonders!).  I might take a few classes but they'll be affordable so that all of you guys can try them too!  Now the real question is, how to get started? Well here's what I'm doing...

First thing I've done is add more fresh fruit to my everyday snacks and meals.  I'm not completely dieting (as you can see by my food choices below) but I do want to make a few healthy substitutions.  According to the health savvy people of FruitsAndVeggiesMatter.gov, there are MANY benefits to eating fruit.  From weight loss to lessening the chance for diseases, fruit and vegetables play a major part in keeping the human body in great shape.  My fruit of choice (so far) has been delicious strawberries.  I've added them to my breakfast and to my snacks.  I've also been eating more plums, watermelon, and adding a bit of fiber to my diet.

Yummy Breakfast: 2 slices of bacon, Eggo cinnamon toast with syrup, Strawberries

Snack Time!: Cinnamon raison bagel with Fat Free Strawberry Cream Cheese topped with fresh strawberries

I'll be posting many more meals and also some easy fun work-outs very soon! Join me on the trip to get fit and toned :)
